Subterranean Termites

Subterranean termites- Termites are white in color and have two segments to their body. Exposure to the sun will change their color from white to gray/black. Termites often get mistaken for ants allowing the colonies to go undetected. Subterranean termites live in the soil and thrive in a dark and wet environment. When a colony becomes overpopulated they swarm to create a new one. Swarming often happens in the spring as the temperature begins to rise. These white bugs cause damage to homes by feeding on the wood structure. Signs of termite activity include swarming(flying) around windows or door frames and/or mud tubes expanding along the foundation wall or floor joists. If you have a crawlspace or basement that is often wet throughout the year, we recommend having an annual termite inspection as your home will be at higher risk.
German Cockroaches

German Cockroach- Color varies from tan to black. The main distinction between German Cockroaches and others are the two parallel lines running from behind the head to the base of the wings (don't worry they cannot fly). They prefer warm and humid environments. The most common place to find them in a residence is the kitchen and bathroom. The eggs take around 30 days to hatch. The female carries around 30-40 eggs in each case! Acting fast by calling us will save you money and stress of dealing with them for a longer period of time.
Yellow Jackets

Yellowjackets- Brighter colors, wasp-like in shape, most build nests underground but can also be found nesting in a home's siding or brick. Yellowjackets are often called bees but they are actually a wasp. They are often mistaken for honeybees as they are somewhat similar in size and color. Yellowjackets are most active during the late summer and early fall.
What to do when you have yellowjackets: It's probably time to call an exterminator. Yellowjackets can be aggressive and they can sting multiple times. When yellowjackets feel attacked they release pheromones to alert others to come help.
Bagworms

Bagworms- Treatment for bagworms should start in the spring when they hatch. Bagworms are often found on evergreen trees. Without removal or treatment they can kill the tree and continue to spread to trees nearby. It can take years for your tree to recover and regain its appearance without treatment.
